Solar Farm savings of $4m over project lifetime
Solar Farm savings of $4m over project lifetime
by RES | Nov 19, 2021 | Reading time: < 1 min

RES provides ongoing asset management to a 100MW (approx) solar farm in Australia. Through specialist monitoring operations, RES identified that the solar farm was only operating at 95% capacity. Our plant performance engineering team discovered that the maximum generation was curtailed in error by a previous (now insolvent) contractor.
The RES team mobilised internal and external specialists, delivering a solution within weeks to release withheld energy, ensuring that the solar farm could operate at 100%.
While an improvement of 95% to 100% may seem minor, this error would have cost the client approximately $4M (over the lifetime of the project). This saving demonstrates the value of a skilled asset management team.
