Gavin’s passion for renewable energy ignited at just 11 years old, when he saw his first wind turbine on the Isles of Scilly. This fascination with the innovation and technical possibilities, married with a strong commitment to environmental reform and social purpose has led him to create and drive forward our clear vision of a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy during a 25 year career at RES.
He has spearheaded the growth of the business from its pioneering start and GW to GW to now 2,500 people across the world, 23GW of installed projects and a development pipeline approaching 30GW. As a champion of family led values and a values based culture, he is well recognized for ensuring that our growth is always in line with our people’s needs and aspirations while delivering for all our stakeholders.
While studying Environmental Geoscience at university, Douglas was exposed to some of the leading climate science at the time – leading him to see solving climate change as the single most important challenge the world is facing. He is proud of the fact that RES has been at the forefront of the energy transition for over 40 years.
Douglas has direct experience across the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects from origination to decommissioning and, as the Chair of RES’ business in the Americas, has overseen the sale of 2.1 gigawatts of development assets and the construction of over 6 gigawatts. He is committed to developing, maintaining and evolving RES’ safety culture and passionate about promoting health and safety in the industry.
With over 25 years’ experience across a wide range of roles in the renewable energy industry, Eduardo has a track record of generating strategic growth, building empowered and high performing teams, and driving operational excellence.
In setting the long-term strategy for RES, Eduardo’s focus has been on strengthening, building and diversifying the company portfolio across development, construction and support services, strategic acquisitions, including the most recent which will double the size of the business, as well as defining our digital and technical roadmap for the future.
He is passionate about leading a RES where long-term value creation is key, and where everyone can contribute equally to our success.
In 2008 when Richard joined RES, it is fair to say that renewable energy was still considered a niche sector. Drawn to the opportunity of doing something worthwhile, with innovative, technical and industry disruptors, he is passionate about ensuring RES’ success creates new opportunities for our people.
Richard thrives on the positive energy and drive of his colleagues, and is proud to have played a role in the professional and personal development of many talented individuals across RES. As CFO he has overall leadership responsibility for finance, strategy, procurement, IT, information systems, risk, and investments.
With 35 years of experience working in energy, John has a wealth of knowledge about the Americas energy market. As CEO for RES in the Americas, he leads the company’s solar, wind and energy storage development, construction, and asset management and operations and maintenance teams across the U.S. and Canada.
John is focused on health and safety to make sure every employee goes home safe, every day. He is dedicated to diversity and inclusion in an effort to create an environment where everyone contributes to our success and he is committed to working to decarbonize the energy sector as part of the green energy transition.
Marco is a senior executive with 30 years’ experience leading multinational businesses across five continents, the past 10 years of which have been in senior executive positions at RES, including as CEO of Global Support Services, where he grew the business from 7.5GW to 12GW.
Marco is very proud of the great teams at RES he has had the privilege to lead and support over the years, and the contribution they have made to accelerating the energy transition.
As CEO EMEA, Marco is passionate about continuing to accelerate our significant development and construction business as well as grow into new technologies and new sectors. All the while investing wisely, to create the best possible outcome for our customers, our people and society.
Chief People & Culture Officer
Maria is an experienced senior leader in human resources, with a background in engineering and project management. Having lived and worked in three different countries, she has held various leadership roles with global accountabilities across some of the biggest companies in the energy industry. She is excited to be able to contribute to accelerating the energy transition required to arrest climate change.
Upon joining earlier this year, Maria was immediately impressed with the unique culture here at RES, illustrated by the commitment and care shown to people and culture issues by the shareholders and senior leaders, and demonstrated through top quartile employee engagement results.
She is committed to ensuring that RES remains an amazing place to work where people feel a strong sense of purpose and culture of care, while continuing to strengthen areas such as development and training, building diverse representation, and an environment of inclusion where everyone feels safe and supported to bring their whole selves to work.
While at university in the late 80s, Dominic studied the then-emerging field of environmental law, and started his private practice legal career with a particular focus on pollution control in the UK and the USA. Moving from the environmental field into the low-carbon energy sector was a natural step, after gaining experience in the European industry. Dominic joined RES nearly 20 years ago, starting out as RES’ sole in-house lawyer.
Now, Dominic is responsible for legal matters across the company. He also helps implement the Group’s compliance programmes and risk management processes. He is most proud of the team he has helped build at RES, and has thoroughly enjoyed spending two decades working with passionate, gifted and motivated colleagues to drive the future of the renewables sector forward.

Paula has over 30 years’ experience in senior leadership roles in energy and the built and natural environment.
Passionate about social advocacy and inclusion, she is delighted to work with an organisation whose underlying mission is to ensure everyone has access to affordable, clean energy and is passionate about ensuring effective, open, two-way communication and engagement with all stakeholders.
She holds overarching responsibility for all aspects of sustainability strategy and delivery, as well as community outreach and engagement, brand, marketing, corporate communication, government affairs, internal communications, and employee engagement.
