Contact usRES wins ScottishPower safety contract for East Anglia TWO
by RES | Aug 11, 2026 | Reading time: 3 min
ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) has chosen RES to deliver the Safety from the System services for the East Anglia Two, which will benefit from their its long-standing expertise in infrastructure projects, renewable energy and asset operations including large wind farm projects.
East Anglia, UK – 11 August 2026– RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, has been awarded the Safety from the System and Operational Control contract for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm.
Located off the coast of Suffolk, England and with capacity to generate up to 960 megawatts (MW) of clean energy, it will produce enough green electricity to power the equivalent of nearly 1 million homes.
Safety from the System is the foundational framework that keeps assets safely isolated, risks actively managed, and people able to work with confidence throughout the programme.
The contract award – which commences in 2027 – is testament to RES’ ongoing work on ScottishPower’s biggest-ever wind farm, East Anglia THREE, recognising the value and strength of continuity of team, expertise, and method.
To support the East Anglia TWO contract, RES intends to recruit a team of 25 people from in and around the Lowestoft and Ipswich areas, boosting local employment and keeping specialist high-voltage skills and jobs in the region. RES also aims to use UK suppliers where possible, working alongside locally-based UK subcontractors to keep value within the domestic supply chain.
Simon Deacon, Regional O&M Director, Northern Europe and Global Offshore Director at RES, said: “Winning this award for EA TWO is exactly the kind of recognition that matters most – not just a contract, but a clear signal that how we manage safety in complex high-voltage environments builds lasting trust. Our people have delivered consistently on East Anglia THREE, and we look forward to carrying the same standards and the same rigour as we grow our EA TWO team and get going from 2027.”
Michael Hotze, SPR’s EA2 TWO Project Execution Director, said: “It’s great to welcome RES to our East Anglia TWO project to support our efforts to bring even more homegrown clean power to the grid. As a trusted UK supply chain partner, this contract is another great example of how our projects are not only supporting a clean energy future, but boosting order books and helping drive economic growth. We look forward to building on the successful partnership established on East Anglia THREE.”

- Safety from the System is the formal control framework that governs safe isolation and control of high-voltage (HV) assets on large energy infrastructure projects. Without it, no HV work can take place.
- RES is currently delivering the Safety from the System and Operational Control service on the adjacent East Anglia THREE project.
- The EA TWO contract is due to commence in 2027.
