by RES | Jan 11, 2023 | Reading time: 2 min

RES partners with new client Thrive Renewables and secures a further agreement with TagEnergy for asset management responsibility for their energy storage sites.
RES, the world’s largest renewable energy company and industry pioneer for over 40 years, has announced the signing of two new asset management agreements. The first contract is with TagEnergy, a familiar partner, who have awarded RES the 49MW/98MWh Jamesfield Farm standalone Battery Energy Storage System near Abernethy, Scotland. The second agreement has been signed with Thrive Renewables for the 20MW/30MWh battery storage project on Feeder Road in Bristol.
Both agreements mean that our Asset Management team will oversee operations at both energy storage sites, ensuring the clients deliver more low-cost electricity for consumers from renewable sources.
This latest tender win is the third energy storage asset management contract RES have been awarded by TagEnergy in the last 12 months. This growing partnership with TagEnergy demonstrates confidence in RES’ technical, commercial and financial asset management teams to deliver a high-quality service based on our detailed knowledge and experience of battery storage assets.
Darren Cook, UK&I Asset Management Director: “RES is pleased to be growing our asset management energy storage portfolio by building on our existing partnership with TagEnergy and creating a new relationship with Thrive Renewables. We’ve got a skilled team of professionals who will manage the assets effectively in order to maximise returns for our clients.”
Franck Woitiez, CEO at TagEnergy stated: “We are pleased to be working with RES once again on this latest project as their experience in developing and managing energy storage systems is world-class. We value RES and the relationship we have built with the RES team means we are confident Jamesfield Farm will support the transition to a more sustainable future by using our combined expertise to drive the flow of clean energy from renewable sources.”
Similar to RES, Thrive Renewables, have been working to reduce emissions and tackle the climate emergency by building and operating renewable energy projects in the UK for close to 30 years.
Matthew Clayton, Managing Director at Thrive Renewables added: “We’re happy to be working with RES and drawing on the company’s comprehensive track record in professional asset management. Thrive’s diversified portfolio now includes onshore wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and battery storage and our latest project – a 20MW battery asset in Bristol – will help bring further flexibility and balancing services to the grid.”
