RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, has been nominated for three awards in the Wind Investment Awards 2023.

The company has been shortlisted for the Asset Management award in recognition of its efforts to deliver best in class asset management by harnessing cutting edge technology. The company is blending its physical engineering capability with their technology engineering to produce digital solutions that can be used to benefit the industry as a whole. RES has won this category for the past two years running.

It has also been shortlisted in the Onshore Developer of the Year category, having successfully delivered 23GW of new renewable capacity across the globe in its 40-year history. Over the past year the company has continued with its strategy to strengthen its development pipeline and expects to bring more than 11GW of wind, solar, energy storage and green hydrogen projects to market by 2025.

Finally, RES has been shortlisted for the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award. This is the second year the company has been recognised in this category having scooped the prize last year. In 2022, the company appointed a Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion, a role created to demonstrate RES’ commitment to embedding Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) in the organisation.

Marco Perona, CEO Support Services at RES, said: “Year on year the portfolio we manage has increased significantly, growing to 12GW globally. As well as helping our clients manage their portfolios, we are focused on making renewables as efficient as possible and finding new technologies and means to maximise the performance of assets. Being shortlisted in the Asset Management category of the Wind Investment Awards is testament to our efforts and we are delighted that our team’s hard work is being recognised. .”

Lucy Whitford, Managing Director, UK&I at RES, said: “We are extremely proud that we have been nominated in three categories of the Wind Investment Awards. For more than 40 years, RES has been leading efforts to create a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy, whilst also having a positive impact on the lives of our employees, stakeholders and the communities in which we operate.

“We are in a strong position as we enter 2023 and plan to bring 4GW of new renewables capacity online during the year. We strive to be a ‘power for good’ in our environment and communities and are grateful that awards like this recognise the hard work of our people.”

Amanda White, Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at RES said: “We are committed to our journey to truly embed diversity and inclusion into the DNA of RES. We aim to remove any systemic barriers in each stage of our talent life cycle, build capability throughout the business, and ensure diversity and inclusion touches every part of the business.”
