Innagreen confirmed as long-term equity partner for Tarong West Wind Farm in Queensland

by RES | Feb 27, 2026 | Reading time: 3 min

Sydney, Australia – 25 February 2026 – RES is pleased to confirm Innagreen Investments, a global renewable energy investor, as the long-term equity partner for the proposed Tarong West Wind Farm in Queensland, Australia. The partnership marks a significant milestone in the project’s progression and strengthens its platform to advance through financing, construction and long-term operations.

In September 2024, Stanwell Corporation Limited entered into commercial arrangements with RES that included an option to acquire the Tarong West Wind Farm, subject to the achievement of agreed development milestones. Under the existing option arrangements, Innagreen has replaced Stanwell, with Stanwell retaining exclusivity to negotiate long-term commercial offtake arrangements for power from the project.

Now with Federal EPBC approval secured, and key planning and grid milestones already in place – including Development Approval from Queensland’s State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) and a grid connection letter from AEMO and Powerlink – the project is preparing to progress toward construction.

Innagreen will partner closely with RES to progress Tarong West toward financial close and construction, supported by experienced delivery partners and long-term ownership intent.

Innagreen is an investment manager specialising in the funding, construction and operation of onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects. Australia is a key growth market for the company, supported by deep relationships with local investors and a competitive cost of capital.

RES and Innagreen share a longstanding relationship through common ownership and a leadership team with extensive renewable energy experience. Together, the two organisations have delivered and operate projects across multiple continents. Recent examples include the 100 MW Hilda Wind Farm and 200 MW Bekevar Wind Farm in Canada. Innagreen and RES are also progressing the development of a 39 MW wind farm in Northern Ireland.

The proposed Tarong West Wind Farm is designed to support Queensland’s energy transition by attracting private investment in renewable infrastructure and helping meet future energy demand. If constructed, the project is expected to provide regional economic benefits through employment and ongoing operations.

An Innagreen spokesperson said: “Tarong West represents a high-quality renewable energy project aligned with our long-term investment strategy and our commitment to supporting the energy transition. We are pleased to be working alongside RES to help bring this project forward and to invest in renewable energy infrastructure that delivers lasting value.”

A RES spokesperson added: “Innagreen is a trusted long-term partner with a strong track record of financing, building and operating large-scale renewable projects. Their participation reinforces the strength of the Tarong West Wind Farm and our shared commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable and affordable electricity for Queensland.”

Project overview

  • Location: Ironpot, Queensland, within the South Burnett Local Government Area, approximately 30 km west of Kingaroy and 8 km north-west of Kumbia
  • Capacity: Designed to generate up to 436.5 MW of renewable electricity
  • Turbines: Up to 97 wind turbines, up to 280 m in height
  • Employment: Expected to support 450+ jobs during construction. Once operational, up to 15 full-time roles are anticipated to support operations and maintenance over the project’s operating life
