Celebrating Pride Month

by RES | Jun 25, 2021 | Reading time: 2 min

We are approaching the end of Pride Month, where RES and our people have been showing their support to LGBTQ+ communities across the world. This is an important topic for RES as we look to become a more inclusive and diverse place to work where all our people have a strong sense of belonging.

RES is committed to promoting a culture where members of our LGBTQ+ feel safe and that they truly belong. By providing opportunities and encouragement, our LGBTQ+ community can reach their full potential by empowering them to be their authentic best selves.

We have recently launched five Affinity Networks. Each Affinity Network is an employee-led group of people from across all the countries RES operates, united in their passion for making our workplace more inclusive. The Affinity Networks have already started building a common understanding of the different challenges and barriers that under-represented groups may experience and will work to address these, powering change for RES employees and wider society.

Our LGBTQ+ affinity network, which is made up of colleagues from across the world, is committed to educating and raising awareness at RES about the LGBTQ+ community and the challenges that they face, and promote a sense of belonging for all at RES.

Pride Month is usually celebrated with lots of parades throughout cities and towns, although due to Covid many of these celebrations have been moved online. As well showing our support through logo changes and Teams backgrounds, our LGBTQ+ affinity network held a series of events and activities to help raise awareness and encourage discussions.

Our LGBTQ+ affinity network will continue their good work throughout the year supporting our commitment to embrace diversity and create an inclusive culture that is fair to all.
