Before a solar site can be completed, it must pass a series of performance tests that prove the project is operating as expected. These tests are essential to bring solar projects online, but they can be slowed by complex systems and fragmented data. To overcome this, teams across engineering, controls, site operations, and commissioning came together to rethink the entire process. Instead of relying on multiple systems and manual spreadsheets, they designed an integrated platform that brings all performance data into one place.  

This platform automates calculations, streamlines data access, and provides real-time visibility into equipment performance. By reducing repetitive work, engineers can focus on problem-solving, optimising performance and driving innovation.

By simplifying how data is collected and interpreted, the teams were able to identify issues earlier, respond faster and complete testing more efficiently. 

Turning insight into action 

One of the clearest signs that the new approach was working came during a performance test when the engineering team noticed a pattern in the site’s data suggesting that part of the equipment wasn’t operating at full potential. The team quickly shared these findings with the one-site commissioning crew, who adjusted equipment settings and resolved the issue within the testing window.
