RES sells Dunbeg South Wind Farm to Innagreen as it enters UK market

by RES | Jan 21, 2026 | Reading time: 3 min

London, UK – 20 January 2026 – RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, has completed the sale of the consented Dunbeg South Wind Farm near Limavady, Northern Ireland to Innagreen Investments, marking Innagreen’s first investment in the UK renewable energy market.

Developed by RES, the consented project will comprise nine turbines with a maximum tip height of 149.9m and, once operational, is expected to deliver approximately 38.7 megawatts (MW) of clean electricity – enough to power around 31,000 homes annually. The site has potential for extension through the addition of up to four turbines to the west, subject to planning consent.

As part of the agreement, RES will continue to undertake the development and construction management and will provide technical services to the wind farm once it becomes operational, ensuring a seamless transition and long-term performance.

Olly Alexander, CEO of Innagreen Investments, said: “This acquisition represents a significant milestone for Innagreen as we expand into the UK market, with further acquisitions expected through 2026. Dunbeg South offers strong fundamentals and aligns perfectly with our strategy to invest in high-quality renewable energy projects. Working alongside RES, we are committed to delivering clean energy that benefits local communities and supports Northern Ireland’s renewable energy ambitions.”

Lucy Whitford, UK & Ireland Managing Director at RES, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Innagreen on Dunbeg South. Their investment reinforces confidence in the UK renewables sector and ensures this project will deliver lasting benefits for consumers, local businesses, and the economy.”

The transaction strengthens Innagreen’s global renewable energy portfolio and builds on its established relationship with RES, following previous collaborations such as the 200MW Bekevar Wind Farm and the 100MW Hilda Wind Farm both in Canada.

RES has been playing a pivotal role in developing, constructing and operating renewable energy projects from its office in Larne, Northern Ireland since the early 1990s. With a wealth of experience across a wide range of disciplines, RES continues to play an active part in Northern Ireland’s clean energy transition.

RES has developed and/or constructed 30 onshore wind farms in Northern Ireland totalling in excess of 525MW and operates over 156MW of wind capacity across the country.
