30 July 2025, London – RES has published its Global Sustainability Report – Power for Good, highlighting a year of transformative growth, strengthened climate impact and global expansion for the world’s largest independent renewable energy company.
The report details RES’ performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities, including its climate impact, approach to responsible business, and engagement with people and communities.
In a landmark year, RES’ services business saw its largest expansion to date with the acquisition of Ingeteam Services – adding 2,000 colleagues, expanding into 12 new countries, and growing its operational portfolio from 11GW to 43GW – marking a step change in RES’ global presence. Continued growth has since taken the portfolio to 45GW as of July 2025.
In parallel, RES’ development and construction activity helped avoid more than 24.7 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions in 2024* – equivalent to taking over five million cars off the road for a year. To date, RES has developed or constructed 28GW of renewable energy projects worldwide.
Eduardo Medina, CEO of RES, said: “This report reflects a pivotal year for RES which was marked by growth, innovation, and meaningful progress. We entered new markets, advanced our digital and operational capabilities, and extended our global footprint. I’m proud of how our people continue to deliver for customers across the full renewables lifecycle, while supporting communities and protecting nature. Sustainability is defined by action, and this year’s report shows the steps we’re taking to deliver on our commitments.”
Report highlights include:
- Acquisition of Ingeteam Services, expanding RES’ operational portfolio from 11GW to 43GW and adding 12 new countries and 2,000 new colleagues. That figure has now grown further to 45GW
- 28GW of renewable projects delivered globally to date, with a further 26GW under active development
- Launch of a new digital solutions business and acquisition of Swiss drone inspection company Sulzer Schmid to boost asset performance for customers
- RES’ largest-ever global safety stand down, engaging teams in 23 countries
- 20-year milestone in Australia, marking RES’ leadership in the market
- Strengthened diversity and inclusion programmes, with over 2,000 volunteer hours logged and nearly £190,000 donated to local community causes
Eduardo added: “Renewable energy lies at the heart of global sustainable progress. For every project we develop, construct, or manage, we design a tailored approach that prioritises environmental impact, community benefit, and stakeholder value with a commitment to deliver purposeful and practical solutions to transform renewable energy assets and the industry.”
The Power for Good report also details RES’ progress on its net zero roadmap, including emissions reductions from travel and facilities, and alignment with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments.
