The Position
You are developing the UK&I Asset Management Grid strategy and lead all of the client-facing Grid related initiatives across our Asset Management portfolio.
You will be an important focal point between the delivery teams within support services and wider Group functions and the clients.
You will support the development and delivery of the Grid Services that RES can offer concerning operational assets managed by the Global Asset Management Teams, to achieve company, client, team and project goals.
Although the focus will be supporting our UK Asset Management Team there will be opportunities to work with other RES Regions.
You will work with the Asset Management team to ensure that our Asset Management portfolio is operated in compliance with the Grid Code requirements.
You will report to the Grid Services and Compliance Manager within the Operations Support and Advisory Services Team and will also work with the Asset Managers, AM Finance Team, RES Control Centre, UKI Energy Networks Team and Routes to Market Team.
Ancillary Grid Services will be developed by the Routes to Market Team (Commercial) and the Grid Services and Compliance Team (Technical). After development they will be delivered by the Grid Services and Compliance team and the RES Control Centre. Although the role is technical you would be expected to understand the commercial nature of these services at delivery stage.
This is a visible role within RES and developing the Grid Services strategy and increasing the standardisation and volume of associated Grid related additional services for the AM business is an important strategic aim for the business.
Identify new Grid services opportunities, promote Grid services to clients and ensuring RES is maximising potential revenues from these workstreams, with a focus on key accounts.
You will directly support and influence the strategies of the support services business units and will work with heads of business areas to develop new Grid related services that can be delivered to main clients.
You will increase and manage RES' exposure to the target markets through client engagement, conference sessions and roundtable events.
You will require regular communication with target clients and provide feedback to the business units to refine the product offering.
Collaboration and regular meetings with RES Energy Networks Team and Routes to Market Team to share information on Grid Policies and Initiatives.
Accountabilities
As Grid Services and Compliance Engineer you will:
Monitor any changes to Grid regulation, policies and ancillary services as they may apply to Support Services client assets. Typical areas of interest will include, as a minimum, grid charging, NESO pathfinder tenders, NESO ancillary service procurement, DS3 services, DSO services, European balancing markets, Capacity Market and Balancing Mechanism.
