A circular economy in action

Our flagship repair facility in Albacete, Spain, plays a central role in our sustainability efforts, reducing emissions and giving components a second life for both RES-managed and external assets.

Circular thinking also shapes our Albacete warehouse, where we’ve introduced measures like repurposing cardboard for packaging, switching to LED lighting, and using reusable cleaning cloths.

6,000 items

in 2024, we repaired 6,000 items, doubling the amount of the repairs in the previous year.

18,000 components

using advanced tools like 3D scanning for reverse engineering, the facility has repaired more than 18,000 mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic components to date.

15 specialists

delivering high-quality, sustainable outcomes

17% reduction

in aerosol use through a refillable system that cuts emissions and waste

30% increase

increase in repair capacity through improved techniques and efficiency

At a key moment in our energy transition, when our actions must increasingly take into account the global impact on people and the planet, our spare parts workshop is proof that sustainability and operational excellence go hand in hand.

Community First: How the CEC Best Practice Charter represents our approach to development

“Clean energy projects are helping to revitalise regional Australia. The Best Practice Charter 2025 reports contain more than 400 examples of how renewable energy developments are delivering for local communities, Traditional Owners, landholders and the environment.” — Jackie Trad, CEO Clean Energy Council We’re proud to be a signatory to…

We are proud to have brought solar power and battery storage to KIOCH children’s hospital in Nepal. This installation will help save lives by keeping vital equipment running during power outages and, by lowering operating costs, will allow this non-profit institution to care for even more children.

Building on years of impact

This latest project builds on the work of previous volunteer teams who brought solar to Nepalese initiatives improving healthcare, education, conservation, and economic opportunity. These projects reflect our long-standing commitment to creating a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy.

2023

Our volunteers installed solar power and storage at Nepal’s first biodegradable pad factory, Miteri Jaibik Pad Udhyog in Chitwan. The women-led enterprise produces 84,000 eco-friendly pads a month and, with the Radha Paudel Foundation, tackles menstrual stigma and promotes women’s rights. Solar savings help cut costs and expand their impact across Nepal.

2022

Our team installed an off-grid solar system at the local Health Post and Birthing Centre, serving 7,000 people in Hadsinja, a remote village in Jumla district. The system powers lighting, diagnostic equipment, refrigerators, and warm beds for babies — enabling 24/7 care and emergency services, and helping reduce emissions from fossil fuel use.

2019

Our first Nepal project was the installation of an off-grid PV system at the Bathanpur wildlife observation tower in Bardia National Park. The electricity generated transformed the tower into a safe space for travellers, used for ranger communications and phone charging. It continues to generate additional revenue to fund conservation work.

When RES says we want a future where everyone has access to affordable zero carbon energy, this is the ‘everyone’ we’re talking about!
