Today, RES announced the acquisition of a 60 acre industrial area in Ljungaverk, in northern Sweden. RES will use the site to develop a new hydrogen plant which will produce green hydrogen for local industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ljungaverk historic industrial area has long been known for its chemical industry. It will now be transformed into a modern production plant for delivering green hydrogen to local industries, enabling sustainable local growth and job opportunities. For RES, the world\u2019s largest renewable energy company, it is the second hydrogen project in the area. They are already developing wind farms locally along with the Alby hydrogen plant.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an honor to have the opportunity to be part of Ljungaverk’s exciting new development. It is a historic industrial location  with good conditions for new projects. There is close access to grid connection and renewable energy production. It feels symbolic that we get to carry on the innovative history of the area in modern times\u201d, says Sigrid Nord, project manager at RES.<\/p>\n

Erik L\u00f6vgren, The Mayor of the Executive Committee of \u00c5nge Municipality commented: \u201cI welcome that the deal has been closed and look forward to the continued development in Ljungaverk.\u201d<\/p>\n

Together with Ellevio, an electricity distribution company in Sweden, they have enabled the expansion of the Tov\u00e5sen main grid station – and the renewable energy cluster that has emerged in the \u00c5nge region, in the north of Sweden. RES is well known in the area for the development of the Alby Hydrogen plant plus Bj\u00f6rnberget and Gubbaberget Wind Farms.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now we are carrying out investigations around safety, risk management and water availability and we see great opportunities and potential in Ljungaverk. We respect the history of the place and therefore want to investigate new possible areas of use for the historic buildings\u201d, says Sigrid.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very gratifying to develop projects like Ljungaverk in a municipality that is engaged in renewable energy. In order to succeed with a transformation, it is necessary to take an approach where everything is connected. And \u00c5nge municipality is a good example of that.<\/p>\n

Tov\u00e5sen enabled the expansion of wind and solar power, which in turn enables the expansion of green hydrogen, says Magnus Igel, RES\u2019 Development Director in the Nordics.<\/p>\n

Idag annonserar RES att de f\u00f6rv\u00e4rvat det 24 hektar stora industriomr\u00e5det i Ljungaverk. Det historiska industriomr\u00e5det \u00e4r sedan tidigare k\u00e4nt f\u00f6r sin kemiska industri. RES planerar nu f\u00f6r utvecklingen av en ny v\u00e4tgasanl\u00e4ggning p\u00e5 omr\u00e5det som ska bidra med gr\u00f6n v\u00e4tgas till industrin.<\/p>\n

\u201cDet \u00e4r en \u00e4ra att f\u00e5 m\u00f6jligheten att vara en del av Ljungaverks sp\u00e4nnande vidareutveckling. Det \u00e4r en historisk industriort och det skapar goda f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar f\u00f6r nya projekt. Det finns n\u00e4ra tillg\u00e5ng till n\u00e4tanslutning via Tov\u00e5sen och f\u00f6rnybar energiproduktion. Tillsammans med Ellevio har man m\u00f6jliggjort utbyggnaden av stamn\u00e4tsstationen Tov\u00e5sen – k\u00e4rnan i det f\u00f6rnyelsebara energikluster som v\u00e4xt fram i \u00c5nge. RES st\u00e5r \u00e4ven bakom utvecklingen av v\u00e4tgasanl\u00e4ggningen i Alby och vindkraftparkerna Gubbaberget och Bj\u00f6rnberget.<\/p>\n

Ambitionen med Ljungaverk \u00e4r allts\u00e5 att bygga ytterligare en v\u00e4tgasanl\u00e4ggning i \u00c5nge kommun. Just nu genomf\u00f6r vi utredningar kring s\u00e4kerhet, riskhantering och vattentillg\u00e5ng och vi ser stora m\u00f6jligheter och potential i Ljungaverk. Vi respekterar platsens historia och vill d\u00e4rf\u00f6r utreda m\u00f6jligheterna f\u00f6r anv\u00e4ndningsomr\u00e5den f\u00f6r de historiska byggnaderna\u201d s\u00e4ger Sigrid.<\/p>\n

\u201cDet \u00e4r v\u00e4ldigt gl\u00e4djande att utveckla projekt likt Ljungaverk i en kommun som \u00e4r motiverade kring f\u00f6rnyelsebar energi. Nu g\u00e5r RES in i en ny fas<\/strong> d\u00e4r industriomr\u00e5det kommer att st\u00e4llas om till en gr\u00f6n produktionsanl\u00e4ggning med innovativa l\u00f6sningar, som till exempel m\u00f6jliga solpaneler p\u00e5 omr\u00e5det.<\/p>\n

\u201cVi ser mycket fram emot att inleda \u00e4nnu ett projekt i \u00c5nge kommun. B\u00e5de Alby och Ljungaverk \u00e4r historiska industriorter och har d\u00e4rmed m\u00e5nga goda f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar f\u00f6r nya etableringar p\u00e5 platserna.
