RES, a partner in the development of the offshore wind farm near Saint-Brieuc in Brittany, has sold its shares in the project to Iberdrola. Iberdrola now owns 100% of the capital and will ensure the execution of the operational phase. RES will continue to work on the project as a service provider, continuing the collaboration. In addition, RES will focus on its participation in future offshore wind tenders in France.<\/span><\/p>\n

[ Version fran\u00e7aise plus bas ]<\/sub><\/p>\n

9th March 2020<\/strong>\u00a0– Since 2011, RES, the world\u2019s largest independent renewable energy company, and IBERDROLA, one of the top five power utilities worldwide, have been working together on the offshore wind farm project off the coast of Saint-Brieuc. As the development phase of the project has come to an end, RES is now selling its shares to IBERDROLA, who becomes the sole shareholder. The project, which will comprise 62 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 496 MW, is now entering its operational phase.<\/p>\n

”RES has contributed to the development of this project since its inception, providing Iberdrola with all our expertise and know-how in offshore wind energy, our knowledge of the French market, private and institutional stakeholders, and our skills particularly adding value in legal, environmental and technical matters. By buying back our shares, as well as those of the Caisse des D\u00e9p\u00f4ts, Iberdrola becomes full owner of the project and will be responsible for its construction and operation. We are proud to have participated in this ambitious and innovative project and will continue to support it and our historical partner. Offshore wind: RES’ ambitions<\/h4>\n

RES is pursuing its development ambitions in offshore wind energy in 2020 and will participate in the next offshore calls for tenders launched as part of the multi-annual energy programme (PPE) by the Energy Ministry in France.<\/p>\n

”We want to put all our know-how into ensuring that France achieves the objectives set by the PPE for offshore wind energy production, an ambitious capacity of 2.4 GW in 2023 and around 5 GW in 2028”<\/em>\u00a0adds Delphine Robineau, RES Offshore Manager.<\/p>\n

Partenaire historique d\u2019Iberdrola dans le d\u00e9veloppement du projet du parc \u00e9olien en mer au large de Saint-Brieuc en Bretagne, RES lui c\u00e8de aujourd\u2019hui ses parts dans le projet. Propri\u00e9taire d\u00e9sormais de 100% du capital, Iberdrola assurera l’ex\u00e9cution de la phase op\u00e9rationnelle. RES continuera \u00e0 travailler sur le projet en tant que prestataire de services, dans la continuit\u00e9 d\u2019une collaboration fructueuse. Situ\u00e9 au large de Saint-Brieuc, le projet, qui comptera 62 \u00e9oliennes pour une puissance install\u00e9e de 496 MW, entre d\u00e9sormais dans sa phase op\u00e9rationnelle.<\/p>\n

Le projet est d\u00e9sormais autoris\u00e9 et comme pr\u00e9vu depuis 2011, en accord avec Iberdrola, RES c\u00e8de ses parts de capital de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de projet. En rachetant nos parts, ainsi que celle de la Banque des Territoires \u2013 Groupe Caisse des D\u00e9p\u00f4ts, Iberdrola devient propri\u00e9taire de l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 du capital du projet et en assurera la construction ainsi que l\u2019exploitation. \u00c9olien offshore : les ambitions affirm\u00e9es de RES<\/h4>\n

En 2020, RES poursuit ses ambitions de d\u00e9veloppement dans l\u2019\u00e9olien l\u2019offshore et participera aux prochains appels d\u2019offres lanc\u00e9s dans le cadre de la programmation pluriannuelle de l\u2019\u00e9nergie (PPE), du Minist\u00e8re de la Transition \u00c9cologique et Solidaire.<\/p>\n
