RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, has signed a new contract with Ailes Marines, a subsidiary of Iberdrola, to deliver O&M works on the offshore substation at Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in France.
The three-year contract will see RES provide the maintenance of the offshore electrical substation, as well as the inspection of the wind turbine foundations above sea level, helping to maximise electricity production.
The 496MW offshore wind farm, which is located 16km off the coast of Brittany was co-developed by RES and Ailes Marines. After selling our equity stake at Final Investment Decision in 2020, RES has been retained on the project by Ailes Marines to provide engineering and management services through final detailed design and construction.
Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm has been producing green electricity since 6 July 2023. When fully operational, the project will be capable of generating enough clean energy for 835,000 people.
Martin Lemaistre, Managing Director at RES France said, “We are delighted to continue to support Ailes Marines on the St Brieuc project which contributes to the energy security of the region. Our expertise in offshore wind will help support the project to maximise energy production and actively help deliver net zero.”
