RES has built a reputation for delivering significant renewable energy projects in Australia, such as Ararat and Murra Warra, some of the largest wind farms in the southern hemisphere. Building on our global Power Purchase Agreement experience, RES signed Australia's first utility-scale corporate PPA with Telstra in 2017 for its first Australian solar farm, Emerald. PPAs for 441MW Murra Warra Wind Farm followed in 2018. A founding signatory of the Clean Energy Council’s Best Practice Charter for Renewable Energy Developments, we have a strong commitment to community engagement, demonstrated through our highly successful Twitter account communicating updates to the Murra Warra community.
RES has been working with municipalities, corporations, First Nations and government authorities in Canada since 2003, meeting the strict requirements in Quebec and Ontario. We have built a positive reputation through our successful delivery of projects, such as the first solar farm under the Ontario Feed In Tariff and Ontario's largest wind farm, the 270MW South Kent facility. We work with First Nations in accordance with Impact Benefit Agreements (IBAs). For example, we implemented procurement processes specific to aboriginal businesses for the 99MW Greenwich Wind Project in Northern Ontario.
Founded in France in 1995 under the name EOLE Technologies, RES is a long-standing pure play renewable energy company, with offices spread across the country. RES has developed more than 1GW of renewable energy projects in France both onshore and offshore. The Services teams, composed of 70 people is supporting today more than 800MW of operational assets in France. RES has been named by France Énergie Éolienne (FEE) as the 5th largest wind asset manager in France. With more than 220 MW of assets under O&M contracts, the RES Services teams is maintaining more than 100 WTG and 15 solar farms.
Working with landowners, municipalities, energy suppliers and industrial clients, RES has a wealth of experience in Germany. RES manages the permitting and tender processes – from the beginning of site identification to the final operation of a wind farm. The expert teams take care of the swift project implementation - including operational management. We have also designed and build Germany's first grid-connected 10 MW battery storage system for a utility in Northern Germany. The battery storage system will provide grid stabilisation and back-up power – sourced from 100% renewable energies to the utility. RES is currently building the Falkenhöhe wind farm in the Black Forest. The three turbines currently being erected are expected to achieve an annual yield of 3.8 GWh and thus be able to supply more than 10,000 private households with clean electricity.
RES, previously referred to locally as Nordisk Vindkraft, is well known in the Nordic region as a leading wind developer, having developed and constructed more than 406MW of onshore wind capacity. RES in the Nordics has strong asset management and O&M capabilities, operating projects for different clients in the region. We are now operating one of Sweden's largest wind farms, the 144MW Sidensjö project, and constructing the 372 MW Björnberget Windfarm.
RES in Turkey has notched up success with its experienced team in every stage of project development such as site identification, measurement station configuration, risk and constraint analysis, attendance to the bids by performing EPDK pre-license applications, and gaining all permits that has to be done during the time of pre-licensing and going through license. RES has completed developing 218 MW wind, 35 MW solar energy projects, has proceeded with developing 265 MW wind energy projects that are won in 2017 TEIAS (Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation) capacity competitions during the 12-year period in Turkey.
Ever since it was established in the UK in 1981, RES has been a pioneer in renewable energy, developing the UK's second ever wind farm in 1992. Our significant portfolio of developed and constructed projects covers onshore and offshore wind, solar and energy storage. RES is responsible for keeping 10% of the UK’s renewable energy projects operating and it provides support services – asset management and O&M - to a sizeable portfolio for leading clients in the industry.
For over 20 years, RES has been helping shape the renewable energy market in the United States. We built what was then the world's largest wind farm in 2001 and since then have delivered over 10GW of wind and solar projects across the US. RES is very active in the PPA market having signed over 1GW of deals. Recently, we were recognised in global rankings as a world leader in energy storage technology integration and our Transmission and Distribution team has delivered over 1,000 miles of transmission line.
