Case study: Setting new standards for connection – Templers BESS, SA<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

RES resolved the control settings, undertook all modelling and progressed all phases of the connection application and registration for Templers Battery Energy Storage System, overcoming unique challenges through collaboration with Sungrow, ElectraNet, and AEMO. By leveraging RES\u2019 technical expertise and strategic coordination, the Templers project resolved its Generator Performance Standards (GPS) and secured NER 5.3.4 approval in record time in ElectraNet\u2019s network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Case study: Enhancing network security \u2013 Dulacca Wind Farm, QLD<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As the largest generator to connect to Ergon Energy\u2019s distribution network, Dulacca Wind Farm, owned by Octopus Australia<\/a>, faced significant scrutiny and competition for network capacity with other generators in the close vicinity. Working closely with Vestas, RES codesigned the wind farm to provide enhanced reactive power absorption, resolving over-voltage issues at Roma.

To address a wide range of harmonic network impedances, RES implemented a bespoke 132kV harmonic filter, mitigating compliance risks during operations. Close collaboration with Energy Queensland, Powerlink, AEMO, and TransGrid ensured a seamless Full Impact Assessment (FIA), avoiding delays and securing Dulacca\u2019s success. This project demonstrates RES\u2019 expertise in connecting Type IV wind turbines in partnership with OEMs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
