Wind Farms in Development in Scandinavia

Tuggenliden, Lycksele, Västerbotten - Sweden

RES is currently planning for a wind farm of 9 wind turbines on the hills of Tuggenliden and Brånaberget, and now has two windmasts making wind measurements which should continue for at least 12 months. The wind resource in the area of Tuggenliden is generally very good and there are no people living close enough to the proposed site to be directly affected by the wind farm. There is also capacity available on the electricity grid.

The early hearing under the Environment Code is finished and residents of the nearby area of the planned wind farm have participated. The findings are being shared with other local communities.

Hornberget, Malå, Västerbotten - Sweden

Hornberget is situated about 3.5 kilometres north of Kristineberg, and about 2 kilometres northwest of Aspliden, in the municipality of Malå, county of Västerbotten. RES Skandinavien is planning to construct a wind farm at Hornberget that will have a total capacity of 9.99 megawatt and produce 28-33 GWh every year. The wind farm will consist of 5 turbines, with an electricity production equivalent to the needs of about 6000 households a year.

The municipality of Malå granted a building permit for wind power on Hornberget in February 2005. The construction is planned for 2006 with completion at the end of 2006.

Håcksta, Hälsingland - Sweden

The 10 MW Håcksta wind farm is planned at Vårdkasberget, approximately 15 km north east of Hudiksvall. The county administration in Gävleborg has given permission for the windfarm under the Environment Code. The local building committee in Hudiksvall unanimously granted Håcksta a construction permit in March 2005. A local appeal has since been lodged against this, which is now being processed by the county administration in Gävleborg

Alavattnet, Strömsund, Jämtland - Sweden

RES Skandinavien is planning to build a wind farm on six hills in the area around Alavattnet, about 20 km north of the town Strömsund in Jämtland, Sweden.

The wind farm is planned to comprise 48 turbines, with an installed capacity of up to 150 MW. It is expected to generate up to 0.25 TWh electricity per year.

Construction is planned to start in 2007.

Tysvær Vindpark, Rogaland - Norway

This area is situated in Tysvaer, County of Rogaland fylke, Norway. In the area are the mountains Årvikfjellet, Sutadalsfjellet, Gudbrandsfjellet och Litlafjellet.

The revised plan for the wind farm is for 13 turbines rated at 2-3 MW each. The turbines will have a maximum tower height of 80 metres, and a maximum rotor diameter of 90 metres, giving a total maximum tip height of 125 metres. The Application for an Energy Concession to NVE was made in May 2005
