Hunter's Hill Wind Farm, County Tyrone

Planning permission for Hunter's Hill Wind Farm, between Fintona and Fivemiletown in County Tyrone, was granted in January 2008. The new wind farm will be adjacent to the existing Lendrum’s Bridge Wind Farm, which was also built by RES. Hunter's Hill will generate enough renewable electricity to meet the needs of an estimated 11,200 homes every year.

Public Information Programme

The public information programme for the Hunter's Hill wind farm proposal began in February 2004. We sent leaflets and posters to over 400 local political representatives, community groups, churches, schools and businesses. 20 response sheets were received in return and we spoke to most local Councillors in person or on the phone as well as 17 community group leaders.

We left information packs with 50 houses on the Ballyness, Corbally, Ecclesville, Eshmore, Killygordon, Murley and Tattymoyle Roads and spoke to 17 householders. There were 5 articles in five local papers. A public exhibition was held in Fivemiletown on the 28th February 2005 and a wind farm visit took place to Lendrum's Bridge wind farm on 12th March.
