Hornberget Wind Farm, Malå, Västerbotten

The wind farm construction commenced on site in May 2006 with the construction of the site access roads and wind turbine foundations. A temporary construction compound comprising welfare facilities for the site construction personnel was established. Construction continued through the summer in advance of the delivery of the grid connection by Skellefteå Kraft in the early Autumn. Turbine delivery and erection took place during November and December 2006 and the site was energised and generating in time for Christmas. Final commissioning and testing took place in the winter months before the wind farm was taken over by the Client in March 2007. The works were completed on time and budget and with a good safety record, to a high level of quality and minimal environmental impact. The official opening took place in April 2007.
