Hopkins Ridge Wind Farm

Hopkins Ridge Wind Farm, Washington State

The Hopkins Ridge wind farm in Washington state, has been built by RES Americas on a turnkey contract for the energy utility Puget Sound Energy (PSE). It comprises 83 Vestas turbines, each rated at 1.8MW. Construction began in March this year and the final turbine was commissioned on 27 November, after only 8 months.

Hopkins Ridge is RES Americas Inc’s third major construction project in the US this year. By the end of 2005, It is expected that RES will have had a role in the development or construction of more than 10% of the total wind energy capacity installed in the United States
