Bessy Bell Wind Farm, County Tyrone

Bessy Bell wind farm is situated near Newtown Stewart, Co. Tyrone.

Constructed by RES Ltd. for PowerGen Ltd., Bessy Bell began generating power in June 1995 - making it one of the first commercial wind farms in Northern Ireland.

The wind farm is contracted to supply power to the National Grid under the 1993 Northern Ireland Non Fossil Fuel Obligation (NI-NFFO).
