SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAICS - RENEWABLE POWER
Electricity is produced from sunlight through a process called
solar photovoltaics. Photovoltaic cells are made of
semi-conducting materials, so whether sunny or overcast, radiation
is converted into electricity.
Working with you, PV Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of RES
Group, can work with you to design, develop and install the solar
system needed to secure energy supply, reduce energy costs and your
overall carbon emissions.
We provide unrivalled experience in systems implementation and
successful solar project delivery - from design and development
through to installation and performance monitoring. Our staff
includes chartered electrical, mechanical and energy engineers who
have served on PV and solar standards committees.
PV Systems has been at the forefront of solar systems design and
installation for over 30 years and has a proven reputation for
innovation and new technology development. We design and
install bespoke photovaltaic systems for multinationals and
governmental organisations, industry and private house
builders making us one of the UK's major specialists in solar
photovoltaics installations. To date, we have installed over 1,000
systems across the UK.
Our designs for PV roofs and facades are widely adaptable new or
refurbished buildings, and can blend seamlessly with many standard
roof coverings, including slates, tiles, roof-lights, patent
glazing, curtain walls, atria and street furniture.
We can also advise your business how they can benefit from the
financial incentive for renewable power generation. Solar
photovoltaic benefits from the Feed in Tariff (FIT). This is a
payment for every unit of electricity generated irrespective of
whether organisations use it or export it to the grid. In
addition surplus electricity exported to the grid also receives a
fixed payment. These payments are in addition to energy costs saved
by generating your own electricity on site.

SOLAR SLATE - RENEWABLE POWER
Where tradition inspires technology
Solar Slate is the innovative and award-winning result of years of research by RES Group.
Solar Slate blends seamlessly into a natural slate roof and produces electricity for the property and to enable the customer to claim the feed in tariff for all of the energy generated. Each Solar Slate doubles as both a solar panel and a roof slate so fits directly into your roof with no need for additional carrying systems or surveys. Most importantly however, Solar Slate allows a property to generate its own energy without having to sacrifice on the beauty of the building, or the landscape in which it resides.
Solar Slate has met with full planning approval and has been used successfully in conservation areas, listed properties, AONBs, and national parks as a result.
- Eligible for payment under the Feed in Tariff (FIT)
- Reliability: no moving parts
- A perfect match to traditional slates
- Easily meets planning requirements
- Practically no maintenance
- Easy to install
The Feed in Tariff aims to increase the level of renewable energy in the UK to meet our renewable energy targets.
Solar Slates are eligible for the Feed in Tariff (FIT). This is
a payment for every unit of electricity generated irrespective of
whether you use it or export it to the grid. In addition
surplus electricity exported to the grid also receives a fixed
payment. These payments are in addition to energy costs saved by
generating your own electricity on site.

SOLAR THERMAL -
RENEWABLE HEAT
Solar thermal is a well-established, global technology for harnessing solar energy for heating hot water. In the UK, solar thermal is mainly used to create hot water for use in buildings for taps, showers and swimming pools.
Your organisation could benefit from the largely untapped potential for cheap and environmentally friendly solar energy available in the UK for heating hot water. The UK currently has around 120 MW of solar heating capacity installed nationwide. However, other European countries with similar climates have almost 50 times this amount.
RES has been in the solar thermal market since 2002. Due to our high standards and excellent reputation, we have become one of the UK leaders and specialists in commercial and large scale solar thermal systems.
RES can offer an integrated approach with multiple renewable technologies used on projects. Future Heating offers full design, specification and installation advice on the most efficient and cost effective systems for commercial installations.
We have installed over 2,500m2 of commercial scale
solar thermal to date, and will design the system to optimise the
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). A 20 year index linked payment for
renewable heat generation. This incentive will pay for every unit
of energy produced. These payments are in addition to energy costs
saved by generating your own hot water rather than using a fossil
fuel.
