RES has an in-house team
of legal and commercial experts to cover all aspects of planning and
negotiating wind energy projects. The legal group ensure compliance with
the necessary national and international codes of business practice,
working with local experts where appropriate. They are responsible for
reaching agreement on all aspects of the development and construction
of each wind farm and for the relevant commercial contracts.
The commercial
group work with banks and financial institutions to establish funding
for wind energy projects. They also negotiate with the power supply companies
on power purchase agreements.
Using this
company expertise, RES recently negotiated a major financing process
with several international banks to cover the refinancing of existing
investments and the construction and term financing of five new wind
farms. This ground-breaking agreement will enable RES to finance further
