RES RECEIVES CONSENT FOR THE DUNMAGLASS WIND FARM

The Scottish Government today gave the green light for RES's 99MW Dunmaglass Wind Farm.  The newly consented Dunmaglass Wind Farm, located approximately 25 km south of Inverness, will comprise of 33 wind turbines, each with a maximum height of 120m to the tip of the blade.

FINANCIAL CLOSE FOR KELBURN WIND FARM

Leading renewable energy developer RES has announced today a financing deal for its Kelburn Wind Farm in North Ayrshire, Scotland.  Kelburn Wind Farm continues RES's growth in developing and owning projects in the UK.  The project has been financed through a portfolio facility established earlier this year jointly with Lloyds Banking Group and BNP Paribas and it is anticipated that further assets will be introduced in 2011.

RES SUBMITS PLANNING APPLICATION FOR FORSS WIND FARM EXTENSION

RES has submitted a planning application for the Forss Wind Farm Extension, located at the former US Naval Radio Station near Thurso in Caithness.  The proposal is for five turbines, each with a maximum height of 81m to the tip of the blade.  The wind farm will have an indicative capacity of between 4.3 - 6.5 MW depending on the type of turbine chosen.  The planning application along with an Environmental Statement (ES) has been submitted to The Highland Council.

RES has submitted a planning application for Woolley Hill Wind Farm, between Woolley and Ellington, near  Huntingdon. If approved, the 4-turbine wind farm would provide enough clean, green electricity to meet the average demand of more than 5,000 homes. Leading British renewable energy developer RES announced today its plans to develop an environmentally-friendly biomass power plant within the Port of Liverpool at Alexandra Dock. The project will be 100 to 150MW in size depending on the outcome of the initial feasibility studies.

RES ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR GLENCHAMBER WIND FARM

RES has announced plans for a wind farm, between New Luce, Kirkcowan and Glenluce, in Dumfries and Galloway.  The 11-turbine wind farm would provide enough clean, green electricity equivalent to the average demand of over 14,000 homes.  Public consultation exhibitions about the project will be held at St Cowans Hall in Kirkcowan from 3pm to 8pm on Thursday 2 September, New Luce Memorial Hall from 10am - 3pm on Friday 3 September and Glenluce Hall from 11am - 5pm on Saturday 4 September.

NV Nordisk Vindkraft AB and HgCapital announced today that they have signed agreements for the sale and construction of the Ytterberg wind farm in the Malå Municipality, Västerbotten County, Sweden. The 44MW project was developed by Nordisk Vindkraft, a subsidiary of Renewable Energy Systems, who will also build the project under an EPC contract, using 22 V-90 2MW turbines supplied by Vestas.

EWEA PREDICTS A STRONG EUROPEAN MARKET FOR WIND TURBINES IN 2010

EOLE-RES has announced today the start of construction of the "Langres Sud" wind farm. Once completed, this wind farm will take EOLE-RES past its first terawatt hour of clean, green energy. MORE WIND POWER CAPACITY INSTALLED LAST YEAR IN THE EU THAN ANY OTHER POWER TECHNOLOGY

More new wind power capacity was installed in the EU in 2009 than any other electricity-generating technology, new statistics published today by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) reveal.  39% of all new capacity installed in 2009 was wind power, followed by gas (26%) and solar photovoltaics (16%). Europe decommissioned more coal and nuclear capacity than it installed in 2009. Taken together, renewable energy technologies account for 61% of new power generating capacity in 2009.
