RES Welcomes Approval of Den Brook Wind Farm

Renewable Energy Systems (RES) has welcomed the Planning Inspectorate's decision today to approve the nine turbine wind farm at Den Brook in Devon following a public inquiry in November last year. The project will generate electricity equivalent to the annual needs of over 10,000 homes - or half of West Devon - and reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas.

Construction Commences at Forss Wind Farm Extension

Civil engineering work has begun to add another four turbines to the existing two-turbine Forss wind farm near Thurso in Caithness, the project owner Renewable Energy Systems Group announced today. The 5.2MW project is expected to be fully commissioned and delivering green power for the Caithness area by the summer of 2007.

A Red Nose Job for the M25 Wind Turbine

The well-known wind turbine next to the M25 in Hertfordshire has been given a red nose job for Red Nose Day 'The Big One' on Friday 16 March. All proceeds from the sale of the electricity it generates for a week will be donated to Comic Relief, which raises cash to help tackle poverty and socia injustice, both in the UK and Africa.

'Yes' to Gruig Wind Farm

RES UK & Ireland Ltd has received full planning permission to build a 10 turbine wind farm at Gruig, near Loughguile, Co. Antrim. The new project will be adjacent to the existing wind farm at Corkey, which was also developed and built by the RES Group, in 1994. It is estimated that the new wind turbines alone will generate electricity equivalent to the needs of 14,000 homes, every year.

RES Celebrates First Scandinavian Wind Farm at Opening of Hornberget

RES Skandinavien developed and designed the project, which was purchased by leading Swedish utility Jämtkraft in January 2006. Construction of the wind farm was undertaken by RES Construction Sweden, through an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Jämtkraft.
