The Role: Offshore Project Engineers. RES is seeking a number of project engineers to support their offshore projects team in various disciplines.
Reporting to: The Engineering Manager or Project Section Managers.
Based in: Kings Langley (Visits to client offices and site works will be required).
Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the role is to provide project engineering to support design and/or construction activities and to supervise (assist the management) construction / commissioning works as and when required.
The role will entail:
For projects in the procurement and engineering phase:
- To assist in the preparation of scopes of work and provide specifications for contract Invitations To Tender (ITTs)
- To support contract negotiation teams in finalising scopes of work and specifications
- To plan and assess options for design decisions
- To assess design risk assessments
- To respond to technical queries
For projects in construction and commissioning phase:
- To act as a Site Engineer / Company Representative for other activities as appropriate on a “leave cover” basis
- To provide logistical supervision and QC support
- To review risk assessments and method statements
Person Specification: The person will be from an electrical, mechanical, structural or civil engineering background. Other engineering disciplines with relevant experience, practical and theoretical knowledge and aptitude will also be considered.
- An engineer with design, office or site experience will be suitable
- A confident individual who can take the initiative
- A self motivated, self reliant team worker
- An individual who is committed to ensuring the highest standards of health and safety
- He/She must have a UK driving licence
- He/She must have good IT skills-Word and Excel; competent use of CAD will be an advantage
