Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. (RES Americas) and Energy Northwest announced today that construction has begun construction on the 32.2 MW Nine Canyon Phase III Wind Project. With Notice to Proceed on Nine Canyon Phase III, RES Americas announced that it now has 1,108 MW of wind farms under construction in the United States.
The Nine Canyon project, occupies 47 acres of a 5,120 acre leasehold located southeast of Kennewick, WA located in Belton County. The project expansion will utilize fourteen Siemens MkII 2.3 MW wind turbine generators, and will bring the total capacity for the Nine Canyon Wind Farm to 96 MW.
Brian Evans, Senior Vice President of RES Americas, commented;
"This is the third project that RES Americas has constructed for Energy North West. RES Americas expects to complete construction of the project in early 2008, at which time this project will be available to deliver clean wind energy to Energy NorthWest's customer base."
