7257 - Systems Administrator II

RES currently has a Systems Administrator II position open in the Broomfield, CO office


The Systems Administrator manages the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, and end-user workstations. Although the Administrator is not responsible for writing new application software, the administrator demonstrates understanding of how software behaves in order to deploy, configure and troubleshoot systems. Additionally, the Administrator researches new technologies and leverages optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently.

This Americas IT function forms part of the wider Global Services function. The successful candidate will work closely with the regional and Group IT as well as business functions to support the EUC environment as required.

This role is responsible for systems.  Provide support to level 3 system administrator(s) in project work and duties as well as mentor level 1 system administrator(s). Focus on detail and quality is essential.  Need to have strong skills in team-work and time management.  Produce thorough documentation and user guides.

Specific duties:

  • Build and maintain web, virtual, and client server environments for the enterprise
  • Maintain the operations of all virtual, web, and client systems to ensure availability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues related to operating systems and servers
  • Partner with the infrastructure members of the team to troubleshoot and resolve network related issues
  • Implement and maintain a systems business impact assessment to prioritize system recovery in the event of a failure
  • Train the technical support staff on solving common systems-related problems
  • Build and implement software standards for servers, operating systems, and end-user workstations
  • Leverage optimization techniques to maximize the efficiency of all computer systems
  • Work with third-party vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Experience using ticketing software

  • Possesses knowledge of core systems concepts (e.g. Systems, Protocols, Directory Services)
  • In-depth expertise of multiple core RES system or technical area (e.g. SCCM, VMWare, etc.)
