Renewable Energy Systems Ltd. (RES) is one of the world’s leading renewable energy developers, working across the globe to develop, construct and operate projects that contribute to a sustainable future. RES is now looking for a Network Analyst with experience of global transformation.
The Network Analyst will support network operations (Corporate and SCADA), monitoring, design, implementation and video conferencing for RES group. The role will be familiar with a breadth of technologies associated with networks including switches, wireless, firewalls, access devices and dependencies such as servers and storage. The successful candidate will assist in the management of server and storage infrastructure and research new technologies to leverage optimisation techniques ensuring systems operate efficiently.
The role will have excellent knowledge of network security working closing with the IT Security Manager to ensure the network is secure.
This role will be part of the global infrastructure team working closely with other team members across the IT function
You will work on escalations, assigned tasks and projects to help with technology transformation and continual service improvement.
RES Group is currently going through technical transformation where there are currently a high number of changes being introduced. The role will be integral to contributing to the service management strategy where the goal is provide a first class customer experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with global IT team as well as wider business to develop and support the infrastructure platform.
Key accountabilities :
-Support, design and implementation of the IT/IoT/SCADA network, LAN, WAN, SDN, Firewalls, video conferencing and Access devices (switches and wireless)
-Perform upgrades and patch management of all network infrastructure components taking into consideration outages and security by following change control process.
-Ensure incidents are resolved, requests fulfilled, and problems investigated with appropriate resolution and contribution to the central knowledgebase.
-Communicate incidents effectively to peers and the management team. Assess the impact of incidents on impacted systems and come up with improvement plans-Improve and enhance call resolution and problem management, documentation, policies, troubleshooting guides, and internal procedures within IT.
-Contributing to the development infrastructure standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines to mitigate software, hardware, and networking issues.
Standardise the network infrastructure globally and be accountable for creating the standards documents
Monitor the network platform ensuring 5 9’s availability. As part of this the role will setup monitoring for new services-Deliver results from assigned projects taking ownership and accountability. Currently there are a number of initiatives when this role will be key, Co- Lo migration, server and OS upgrades, virtualisation and Active directory remediation-Proactively enhance knowledge of new products and service technologies.-Participate in on call rota.
-Excellent understanding of WAN/LAN networking, firewalls, switches, routers & IoT/SCADA
-Excellent knowledge of monitoring software, Solarwinds & PRTG -Knowledge of windows platforms
-Experience with incident and problem troubleshooting and escalation
-Familiarity with ITILv3 or related service delivery framework

-Ability to interact successfully with people in a customer-facing role -3-5 years in a service operation role, understanding network troubleshooting
-IT Related Degree or equivalent
-Professional qualifications, CCNA, CCNP or higher
