Working as part of the Group Finance team, the key role will have a variety of responsibilities, including providing insight to senior internal and external stakeholders, providing statutory accounting guidance to regional teams, working on ad hoc strategic projects and supporting the finance transformation team to deliver transformational change throughout the global business.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role has a very close liaison with the key personnel within the global finance community including the Group CFO and regional CFO’s and FC’s.
Working on strategic projects, this role will also have some exposure to senior non-finance stakeholders as well.
Insight to senior stakeholders
This role will be required to create the monthly Group management reporting, understanding key drivers behind performance against budgeted P&L, cashflow and KPI’s. This role will be an essential key link between country finance teams and group stakeholders and will require the ability to challenge results, communicate ideas, provide insightful reporting to stakeholders and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This role will provide a great experience of understanding the business beyond the numbers and providing key insight to senior group stakeholders.
In addition to the monthly reporting, this role will be key in co-ordinating the annual budget cycle and quarterly re-forecast, receiving information from country finance teams, understanding drivers behind variances and reporting to senior stakeholders.
Senior finance leaders have delivered a vision of how finance needs to transform to become Trusted Business Partners. This role is key in driving progress towards delivering that vision, through co-ordinating the re-design of business processes, standardising and simplifying our data and reporting attributes, ensuring benefits are realised in onboarding new technology and working with non-finance stakeholders to buy in to the transformation programme and its deliverables
Perform the quarterly consolidation and prepare unaudited interim accounts. As part of the year end process, this role will be required to perform the group consolidation and statutory group audited accounts, dealing with auditor queries as they arise. At group, we also have oversight over key accounting judgement areas and therefore this role will be required to review key accounting memos produced by regions.
Ad Hoc Projects
The Group CFO and FC will have ad hoc projects ongoing which support our strategic objectives; this role will be required to support these initiatives as and when they arise.
Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) to support senior management and the regional finance team
Good Knowledge of financial systems and the ability to develop
Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with senior management
Tenacity and attention to detail, to be able to deliver high quality financial information to support management decisions at Board level
The ability to work autonomously at times, to meet routine internal reporting deadlines and be accountable for the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting and year end statutory accounts
Pro change team player motivated to improve processes and support the development of initiatives driven by the Group finance department
Very strong Microsoft Excel skills

Experience of the wind energy or renewable energy sector preferable
Experience in working with auditors
Experience in delivering "change" projects preferable but not essential
Experience of budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
