Commercial Analyst - Kings Langley

The role forms part of the External Support Services function delivering services to TRIG and other key clients. Reporting into the TRIG Operations Manager, this important role will provide Excel-based financial modelling and analytical support to the TRIG Operations Manager. The role will support the delivery of Operations Management services by RES Group to the rapidly expanding Renewables Infrastructure Group (“TRIG”), a £1bn market cap, FTSE 250 listed renewable infrastructure fund. TRIG invests in operational wind and solar farms in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France, with a mandate to continue to invest in Western and Northern Europe. Some financial modelling and analysis will also be provided to the wider RES External Support Services business, providing the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of different products across multiple clients.

Key Accountabilities

- Performing Excel-based financial modelling activities, including the semi-annual population with actuals of large existing bank financing and valuation models, interpretation and analysis. -  - Developing financial modelling and analysis of new product offerings by the RES External Support team.

 - Driving continuous improvements on the efficient and accurate population and management of deliverables.

 - Providing day-to-day support to the TRIG Operations Manager in all aspects of service delivery, such as contract interpretation, risk analysis, financial structuring activities, annual budgeting.

 - Providing detailed financial and analytical support and challenge to drive fund growth by providing insight and ideas to the client.

 - Familiarity with key contract terms across the portfolio of assets, supporting project and portfolio analysis.

 - Liaising with the Investment Manager of TRIG and other clients on  the financial modelling of operational assets.

 - Supporting the Operations Manager and Due Diligence Manager in ad-hoc projects, such as project and portfolio financing, new asset acquisition due diligence and contract review and renewals.

 - Providing financial support and analysis for decision making.

 - Development of TRIG’s financial models.

Knowledge

- An in-depth understanding of the key aspects of financial modelling, discounted cash flows, project appraisals and model decisional making is essential.- An understanding of core management and financial accounting concepts is essential- Experience of interpreting and managing contractual obligations is desirable 

Skills

Experience

- Experience of creating, using and maintaining financial models is essential.

 - Working in a customer facing role, either internally in terms of business partnering, or externally with client base.

 - Experience of working in a mid/large-sized and international business is desirable.
