Res Group - Renewable Energy Company

Information for Recruitment Agencies

Thank you for your interest in working with RES Group.

Role of HR

The HR team co-ordinate all recruitment activity, ensuring that vacancies are approved, budgeted and supported by a role profile.

The HR team is responsible for identifying and briefing recruitment agencies and agreeing terms of business.

We publicise vacancies internally on our intranet, and in the Careers section of our website, we also advertise all vacancies which are open to external applicants.

Preferred suppliers

We work with a number of preferred suppliers who have technical, sector or local expertise and we start most assignments by briefing a maximum of three preferred suppliers per vacancy.

We've found that working with a limited number of agencies on a particular assignment is more effective for us and for our suppliers. We're able to respond more quickly with feedback on candidates and we can facilitate meetings with line managers to help recruitment consultants get a better understanding of the company and the role. We only extend the briefing to more agencies if it proves very difficult to identify suitable candidates. Preferred suppliers already have a successful track record with RES. We are not actively seeking to increase the number of agencies that we work with, but nor do we want to close the door to potentially helpful new contacts.

Next steps

If you would like to work with RES in the future, please send an email to

with the following information:

  • Terms of business
  • Sector or technical specialism(s)
  • Office location
  • Brief profile of the named consultant who would work with us
  • Three examples of recent placements

We will contact you again if we would like to arrange a meeting to discuss your services in more detail. At that stage, we'll ask you to provide a reference from a comparable organisation. We're very aware that our preferred suppliers are representing RES, so we may also ask to speak with some recent candidates, successful and unsuccessful.

Unsolicited phone calls

Please be aware that we have a strict policy on unsolicited contact from recruitment agencies. Contact via the aforementioned process is the only method we accept unless we directly inform you otherwise. Unsolicited phone calls reflect poorly on agencies and are likely to mitigate against their inclusion on our PSL.

We apologise to high quality recruitment agencies for this approach, but we receive an unacceptable level of unsolicited contact and will strictly apply this policy in order to contain this challenge.

Speculative candidate introductions

As a general rule we don't accept speculative referrals, and our willingness to look at CVs will depend in part on how long we have been trying to fill a particular post. However, we have filled one or two technical roles as a result of an introduction from an agency that wasn't previously known to us. If you feel strongly that you have the ideal candidate for one of the vacancies that you have seen on our website, and you are happy to accept the terms below, please send a CV via our 'Recruitment Agency Application Form' listed under each vacancy detailing:

  • Role the candidate is being introduced for
  • Candidate name
  • Current salary and salary expectations
  • Current location (and willingness to relocate if appropriate)
  • Availability/notice period

Speculative referral terms

  • We'll pay a maximum introduction fee of 18% of starting salary for speculative referrals.
  • We require a refund period of 12 weeks in your TOB (in line with our three month probationary period)
  • You won't be authorised to represent RES until we have confirmed interest in your candidate for a specific vacancy. We will brief you fully on the role if we'd like to interview your candidate.
  • We are unfortunately unlikely to have time to provide detailed feedback on unsuccessful candidates.
